Chapter 1: The Early Spark (1999-2004)

In the group stage of UEFA EURO 2004, the Czech Republic came from 2-0 down to win an enthralling game against Holland to progress to the Quarter-finals. Čech’s crucial saves kept his team in the game.

Chapter 2: Golden Glove Honors (2004-2006)

On 9 February 2004, Chelsea FC signed 21-year-old goalkeeper Petr Čech from Rennes for a fee of 7 million euros. There began one of the most glorious and consistent playing careers in the club’s history.

Čech kept 10 straight clean sheets and set a Premier League record at the time by going 1,025 minutes without conceding a goal.

His talent was evident from the beginning of his Chelsea career, and with a formidable defensive line in front of him, Chelsea cruised to their first title in 50 years.

Chapter 3: Return of the Titan (2006-2007)

After colliding with Reading’s Stephen Hunt early in the 2006/2007 season, Čech advised to take an extended break from football due to surgery for a depressed skull fracture and cautioned that a premature return could be fatal.

By working tirelessly out on the training pitch, he returned 105 days after the surgery and quickly regained his form. After a 2-0 loss at Anfield, he went on to secure cleen sheets in his next eight league games, which earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award for March 2007.

Chapter 4: The Pinnacles of Glory (2008-2015)

Čech saved 2 penalties during the FA Community Shield match, helping Chelsea win the title against Manchester United 6-3 on penalties.

Another remarkable save occurred during the 2012 FA Cup final against Liverpool when he miraculously blocked an Andy Carroll header late in the match.
