FC Mobile Formations: The Ultimate Guide

The formation you choose for your team in the EA Sports FC Mobile (previously FIFA Mobile) can significantly influence your success in beating your opponent in Versus Attack (VSA), Head to Head (H2H), or Manager Mode.

However, it’s worth noting that a formation that works well in VSA may not necessarily perform as well in H2H and Manager Mode, and the same applies in reverse. Your choice of formation should be tailored to the specific mode of play.

In Versus Attack (VSA) mode, an effective formation is one where the first touch of the ball is relatively close to the goal. This approach increases the speed and likelihood of scoring opportunities.

On the other hand, in Head to Head (H2H) or versus AI Matches, a formation that is optimal for counter-attacks tends to be more successful. Why? We will explain it later.

There are 27 formations on EA FC Mobile 24. Five formations use 3 ATB (at the back a.k.a defenders), 18 formations use 4 ATB, and 4 formations use 5 ATB.

How to Change Formation

How to change formation on FC Mobile is very easy. Here’s how to do it:

1. From the Main Screen, go to the ‘My Team‘ menu.
2. Click the Formation icon in the bottom right.
3. Then, click ‘select‘ in the formation that you want to use.
4. Done.

The most used formations in FC Mobile are :

Best Formations in VS Attack Mode

The best formations in FC Mobile for VSA Mode are 352 and 3412. The reason behind this is that these formations are well-balanced between attack and defense.

The 352 formation is more defensive with two additional CDMs, while 3412 is more offensive with two additional CMs. Use two CDMs with good defensive stats when using the 352 formation, and use two CMs with good offensive stats when using the 3412 formation.

A little note, EA often tweaks formations regularly, so don’t always stick to our guide above. When there is a change in the formation that you usually play, do tests and search for information as much as you can in the forums or social media about changes that may be done by EA.

Best Formations in H2H Mode

While on VSA the best formations are 3 ATB with 3 Center Backs, in H2H the best formations are 4 and 5 ATB.

The reason behind this is that on H2H, many users exploit the wide area using pacey wingers to make crossing passes, so using 3 ATB is not effective enough to block it because the defense is focused only on the center side. On the other hand, by using 4 or 5 ATBs, the wide area will be covered by full-backs to prevent spam crossing/crossing abusers.

Best Formations vs AI Matches

This season’s AI matches are pretty easy to beat. Any formation was effective against them.

If you want to beat AI in matches more easily, use a Mourinho-style strategy. Just sit deep then do counterattacks. Let the opponent attack and ambush them in our defensive area, then do counterattack tactics with pacey strikers or wingers.

That being said, the most appropriate formations for this tactic are 4222, 433 Attack, or 4231.
