Special Traits Guide

Special Traits in the EA Sports FC Mobile are used to provide players with unique skills and play styles in the game. Each Trait impacts some aspect of the player’s behavior on the field.

To find out your player’s Special Trait, select a player in the squad and click the Details button. Then, tap on the Traits tab.

Important to note, not all traits function the same way. It means some traits may change the way the player performs on the field, and others may only have an impact when that player is autoplay or being controlled by the AI.

How to use Special Traits in FC Mobile?

As explained above, special traits are used to provide players with unique skills and play styles in the game. Each Trait impacts some aspect of the player’s behavior on the field.

Therefore, you cannot use special traits manually using buttons/gestures such as when we want a player to shoot, pass, or perform skill moves. It is embedded automatically in the player/card and can be triggered at any time depending on the situation on the pitch.

Below is a complete list of all the special traits available in EAS FC Mobile.

One On Ones (GK)

Goalkeepers with this Trait have an advantage in 1 on 1 situation. During a 1 on 1 situation, they will be more likely to rush out to close down an attacker.

Goalkeepers with this trait: Manuel Neuer, Samir Handanovič, and Xavier Pinoteau.

Power Header

Players with this trait have more powerful headers.

Some players with this trait: Harry Maguire, Duván Zapata, Mario Mandžukić, Matthijs de Ligt, Virgil Van Dijk, Sergio Ramos, Wout Weghorst, and more. Strikers (ST) and Centre Backs (CB) are the positions that have most of these traits.

Long Thrower (GK)

Goalkeepers with this Trait have the ability to target players further away with thrown passes.

Some players with this trait: Jan Oblak, Thibaut Courtois, Alisson, and many more. Most goalkeepers have this trait.

Puncher (GK)

Goalkeepers with this trait are more likely to punch the ball during corners or defend crosses and lofted-through balls, rather than catching the ball.

Players with this trait: Lev Yashin and Andriy Pyatov.

Pushes Up For Corners (GK)

Near the end of a match, if a goal is desperately needed, a goalkeeper with this trait will be more likely to push forward in attack for a corner.

A player with this trait: Peter Schmeichel.

Play Maker

On autoplay, Players with this trait will be given the ball by their teammates more often, allowing them to dictate more of the attack. They will also make faster passing decisions.

Some players with this trait: Paul Pogba, Lionel Messi, Bruno Fernandes, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruud Gullit, Alejandro Gómez, Antoine Griezmann, David Beckham, and more. Most creative midfielders (especially CAM) have this trait.

Speed Dribbler

On autoplay, players with this trait are more likely to dribble with the ball at high speed and regularly try to knock the ball ahead of their opponents and beat them with speed.

Some players with this trait: Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Alphonso Davies, Jordi Alba, Kylian Mbappé, C. Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Nicolas Pépé, Anthony Martial, Michael Owen, Heung Min Son, Leon Bailey, and more. Most world-class wingers (RW and LW) have this trait.

Long Shot Taker

Players with this trait are more likely to try and take long shots when running with the ball, especially when afforded space.

Some players with this trait: Paul Pogba, Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, David Alaba, Josip Iličić, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Kane, Casemiro, David Beckham, Marco Asensio, Ángel Di María, C. Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Marco Reus, and more.

Long Passer

On autoplay, Players with this trait are more likely to attempt long passes.

Some players with this trait: Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, David Beckham, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk, Harry Maguire, Mats Hummels, Simon Kjær, Toni Kroos, and more.

Early Crosser

On autoplay, Players with this trait will be more likely to attempt an early cross.

Some players with this trait: David Beckham, Andrew Robertson, Kieran Trippier, Nordi Mukiele, Luke Shaw, Kevin De Bruyne, Angeliño, Pascal Groß, and more. Wingers, midfielders, and fullbacks (RB and LB) are the positions that have most of these traits.

Finesse Shot

Players with this trait get the full amount of curl when they take a finesse shot when the ball is on the ground.

Some players with this trait: Rivaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, Christopher Nkunku, Samuel Eto’o, David Beckham, Mohamed Salah, Stephen El Shaarawy, Antoine Griezmann, Saúl, Marco Reus, and more. Most Attackers have this trait.

Selfish

Players with this trait will be more likely to hold onto the ball even though their teammates are in a better position. They are less likely to pass the ball and more likely to dribble or shoot.

Some players with this trait: Neymar Jr, Mohamed Salah, Moise Kean, Gabriel Jesus, Nicolas Pépé, Andrej Kramarić, Isco, Allan Saint-Maximin, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Wilfried Zaha, Yannick Carrasco, and more.

Tries To Beat Offside Trap

Players with this trait frequently attempt to beat the offside trap when the ball is played through to them.

Players with this trait: Marc Overmars, Michael Owen, Miroslav Klose, David Trezeguet, Gianfranco Zola, Thierry Henry, Hristo Stoichkov, Gary Lineker, Butragueño, Filippo Inzaghi, and Luis Hernández. So far, only Icon players have this trait.

Dives Into Tackles

On autoplay, Players with this trait will be more likely to use a sliding tackle instead of a standing tackle.

Some players with this trait: Lothar Matthäus, Casemiro, Raphaël Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Ozan Kabak, Sergio Ramos, Philipp Lahm, Arturo Vidal, Ashley Cole, Nemanja Vidić, Eric Bailly, Sven Bender, and more.

Avoids Weaker Foot

Players with this trait will avoid using their weaker foot to shoot, even when it might provide a better angle.

Players with this trait: Carlos Alberto, Rivaldo, Fernando Hierro, Roberto Carlos, Diego Maradona, Juan Sebastián Verón, and Ali Abbas (the only non-Icon player who has this trait).

Powerful Driven Free Kick

Players with this trait will start their free kick run-up from further back, producing a more powerful free kick. On autoplay, Players with this trait will be more likely to choose a driven free kick over a finesse free kick.

Some players with this trait: C. Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Michael Ballack, Casemiro, Roberto Carlos, Leroy Sané, Nabil Fekir, Frank Lampard, Ronald Koeman, Ruslan Malinovskyi, and more.

Long Throw

When Players with this trait perform a throw-in, the maximum distance of the throw is longer than a player without the Trait.

Some players with this trait: Marquinho, Joe Gomez, John Stones, Kenny Lala, Kyle Walker, Capa, Giorgio Chiellini, Jérôme Boateng, Christopher Trimmel, Jan Bořil, and more.

Giant Throw

When Players with this trait perform a throw-in, the maximum distance of the throw is longer than a player without this Trait.

Some players with this trait: Michail Antonio, Weston McKennie, Ben Tozer, Chancel Mbemba, Rodney Kongolo, Eduardo Salvio, Bart van Hintum, Jetro Willems, and more.

Flair

Players with this trait will be less likely to make errors when attempting flair moves.

Some players with this trait: this is the most common trait in EA FC Mobile. The majority of players have this trait.

Outside Foot Shot

Players with this trait will be able to perform an outside-of-the-foot shot regardless of their Finishing attribute value.

Some players with this trait: Thomas Müller, Karim Benzema, Bruno Fernandes, André Silva, Pablo Sarabia, Xavi, Julian Brandt, Mesut Özil, Paulo Dybala, and more.

Argues with Officials

Players with this trait will frequently argue with officials, of course when there is a foul.

Some players with this trait: Lars Bender, Carles Puyol, Igor Akinfeev, Sergio Agüero, Lautaro Acosta, Shane Duffy, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Wayne Rooney, Sol Campbell, Piqué, and more.

Diver

This Trait may affect how often a player goes down easily when tackled or bumped by opponents. Players with the Diver Trait might be more likely to fall dramatically, even when the contact is minimal, and they may draw fouls more frequently.

A player with this trait: Dani Alves.

Injury Prone

Players possessing this Trait have a heightened probability of sustaining an injury during a collision.

Players with this trait: Marco Van Basten, Neymar Jr., Giorgio Chiellini, Ronald Araujo, Leon Goretzka, Marco Reus, Serge Gnabry, Raphael Varane, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Kingsley Coman, Federico Valverde, and more.

Solid Player

Players possessing this Trait have a lower likelihood of sustaining an injury during a collision.

Players with this trait: Ruud Gullit, Lothar Matthaus, Jan Oblak, Thomas Muller, Heung Min Son, Kylian Mbappe, Robert Lewandowski, Matthijs de Ligt, Stefan Effenberg, Bruno Fernandes, Pedri, Martin Odegaard, Ruben Dias, and more.

Team Player

This Trait is factored into the decision-making process when selecting a captain, in instances where the pre-designated team captain is not part of the lineup or is taken out during a game due to a substitution or red card.

Players with this trait: Paolo Maldini, Marco Van Basten, Giorgio Chiellini, Laurent Blanc, Alessandro Nesta, Heung Min Son, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Casemiro, and more.

Leadership

This Trait, along with the Team Player trait, plays a role in the decision-making process for appointing a captain when the assigned captain is not part of the team lineup or is removed mid-game due to substitution or a red card.

Players with this trait: Paolo Maldini, Kevin De Bruyne, Patrick Vieira, Alessandro Nesta, Peter Schmeichel, Sergio Busquets, and more.

Second Wind

Players with this trait have less fatigue towards the end of a match if they are currently losing. If you’re losing after the 75th minute, any player with the trait will recover 25% of their stamina.

Players with this trait: Lothar Matthäus and Gattuso.
